New Kitchen in Old Bakery in Wingrave

Project Description

And old, beamed property in Wingrave, Buckinghamshire – formerly the village Bakery – needed a change of kitchen for more flexibility, better flow, more storage and a lighter overall feel.

Our clients had an old pine, hand built solution that had reached its ‘end of life’. With the nature of pine absorbing natural light into it rather than reflecting back and the fact that the actual pine wood material deteriorates very quickly, the room was seriously dark and was made significantly worse due to low ceilings, blacked oak beams and small, historical windows.

Using a flexible design, we managed to increase storage volume by 62% and also adding a small, but useful island for small social gatherings, to make the space very inclusive. The kitchen provided was our stunning Masterclass Sherborne Painted Wood Shaker in Ivory – a neutral tone – to draw the eye into making the space feel much bigger and then adding a stunning and often unused Surf Green Granite worksurface to co-ordinate beautifully with true multi-toned Welsh Slate floor tiles.

LED lighting. Glass splashback, custom made Spice Rack units whilst still packing in a Single Oven, Combi Microwave, a very tall Larder Fridge and separate tall Freezer, plus larders, pan drawers, internal bin and the added benefit of TWO separate sinks, this kitchen truly packs a huge punch and has won many plaudits for its design and function.

Thank you for our wonderful new kitchen. It is far in excess of our expectations and special thanks to all your team for the challenges faced and the responses given. Our old building certainly needed some extra work! We now enjoy being back in our kitchen space.
